Purpose of Position:
This position fulfills the mission of Empigo Academy by fostering an environment of biblical faith and innovation, equipping future generations with the technical and vocational skills needed to excel. As a teacher, it will be your responsibility to not only encourage learning but be an example of being a learner of the bible.

Schedule: 10-month position (August-May)
Salaried, contracted employee

Qualifications:
BA/BS required.
Teacher Certification or in pursuit of receiving preferred.
Experience in Bible-based Education preferred.
In agreement with the Empigo Academy (EA) Statement of Faith.
Active member/regular attendee of Bible-believing church or ministry and committed to growth in his/her relationship with Jesus Christ.

Ability to effectively work and communicate with students, parents, administrators, faculty, and staff.
Understand, articulate, and exemplify teaching and learning from a bible-based perspective.
Demonstrate a calm demeanor in stressful situations.
Maintain confidentiality.
Responsibilities:
Develop trusting, productive relationships with students to create a safe, positive, and productive learning environment.
Show expertise in each content or subject area and knowledge of the standards, learning targets, and appropriate materials for the student's age and content area.
Solicits feedback from students to self-reflect on their teaching, set goals for improvement, and grow in the craft of teaching.
Partners with parents through effective, consistent communication.
Serves as a collaborative, productive team member who participates in professional learning communities, school events, department meetings, and other committee work that enhances the experience for faculty and students at Empigo Academy.
Be responsible for classroom discipline and student management that aligns with the school behavior expectations.
Fulfill all policies, procedures, and professional obligations outlined in handbooks and written and oral instructions from the administration.
Perform recess duty, lunchroom supervision, hallway supervision, and other duties regularly and consistently.
Manage all aspects of the classroom, including displays, materials, and cleanliness.
Other duties as appropriate and assigned.
